World Cleanup Day 2025: Over 100 VinUnians Joined Hands to Clean Up Gia Lam Ward – Collecting Over 40 Tons of Waste

October 20, 2025

On October 11, 2025, the VinUniversity Sustainability Committee, in collaboration with the Vinhomes Ocean Park Management Board, Let’s Do It Vietnam, Ecoquity Club, and the VinUni Youth Union, successfully organized the World Cleanup Day 2025 activity at Ho Sen Street and Gia Lam Ward.

Although the morning began with light rain, the green spirit of the VinUni community shone brightly throughout the day. More than 100 participants, including students, faculty, staff, and residents of Ocean Park, came together to collect over 40.3 tons of waste, including construction debris, recyclable, and non-recyclable inorganic waste.

The activity was part of the global World Cleanup Day campaign – the world’s largest environmental movement that unites over 200 countries in collective action for a cleaner planet. Through this initiative, VinUni aims to spread the green message, encouraging the community to adopt greener lifestyles, reduce waste, and take part in building a more sustainable future.

Beyond the cleanup, the event also served as an opportunity to connect VinUnians and the local community, fostering shared understanding and engagement in environmental protection and sustainability.

The VinUniversity Sustainability Committee extends heartfelt appreciation to the Gia Lam People’s Committee, the Vinhomes Ocean Park Management Board, Let’s Do It Vietnam, Ecoquity Club, the VinUni Youth Union, and all volunteers and participants who contributed to the success of this meaningful initiative.

May this green spirit continue to grow and inspire, so that each day at VinUni becomes a small but meaningful step toward a more sustainable future for Vietnam and the world.
