International Conference on Cell and Gene Therapy (VCGT) 2025: Advancing Regenerative Medicine Research in Vietnam

November 13, 2025

Recently, the Vinmec Research Institute of Stem Cell and Gene Technology (under the College of Health Sciences, VinUniversity) collaborated with the Vietnam Society for Regenerative Medicine and Cell Therapy to host the 8th Annual International Conference on Cell and Gene Therapy (VCGT).

The event brought together 17 leading experts from Vietnam and around the world – including Sweden, Japan, South Korea, Germany, and China – to share pioneering research and insights in the field of cell and gene therapy.

Through four in-depth discussion sessions, the conference offered new perspectives on:

  • CAR-T cell therapy – “programming” a patient’s own immune cells to effectively eliminate cancer cells.
  • Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation – regenerating a healthy immune system and offering potential cures for blood cancers and autoimmune diseases.
  • Exosomes – exploring the therapeutic potential of extracellular vesicles in treating neurological disorders and advancing regenerative medicine.
  • Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) – presenting the latest research progress and prospects for broader clinical applications.

The conference highlighted VinUni’s commitment to fostering knowledge exchange, inspiring the next generation of scientists, and collaborating with the global research community to advance innovative medical solutions for human health. From today’s meaningful connections, VinUni believes that new breakthroughs in regenerative medicine will continue to grow and spread – paving the way for Vietnam’s progress in this promising field.
