Green Wednesday

Green Wednesday

Overview:
Green Wednesday is a campus-wide sustainability initiative aimed at reducing the environmental impact of our daily activities. Every Wednesday, we encourage our community, including students, faculty, and staff to actively participate in green practices that contribute to our goals of achieving Net Zero by 2050.

Objectives:

  • Promote sustainable practices: We engage the VinUni community in green practices to reduce carbon footprints, minimize waste, and promote energy efficiency.
  • Raise awareness: We educate and involve the campus in sustainability efforts through collective actions.
  • Create a culture of sustainability: We encourage eco-friendly behaviors that extend beyond Wednesdays, creating lasting habits that support the university’s broader environmental goals.

Activities:

  • Green Outfit Challenge: Every Wednesday, we encourage everyone to wear green to symbolize our commitment to sustainability. The team with the most “green” participants will earn bonus points in the VinUni One Culture program.
  • Green Transport: Students and staff are encouraged to use electric vehicles for commuting to reduce our carbon footprint.
  • Paper-Free Day: On Wednesdays, we aim to minimize paper usage across the campus by going paper-free.
  • Plastic-Free Day: We encourage everyone to reduce plastic waste by refraining from using single-use plasticsm, bringing reusable cups, containers, and avoiding disposable plastics.
  • Energy Efficiency: Reduce energy consumption by turning off lights and air conditioning when not in use.
