VinUniversity is pleased to announce a significant milestone in its ongoing mission to strengthen the connection between academia and industry.
On September 9, 2025, senior leaders from VinUniversity and Vingroup convened with global experts from UL Solutions and UL Standards & Engagement to establish a strategic partnership. This collaboration is grounded in a shared vision for disruptive innovation, meaningful societal impact, and sustainable development. The discussions laid the foundation for long-term cooperation that will shape the development strategies of all parties involved.

Representing UL Solutions were key regional and global leaders, including Mr. Anthony Tan, Vice President and General Director of APAC; Mrs. Inna Sun, Global Account Director of APAC; and Mr. Mathieu Do, Country Manager for Vietnam. From UL Standards & Engagement, Mr. Kolin Low, Regional Director for ASEAN, Japan, Korea, and Australasia, joined the strategic discussions.

VinUni was represented by Leaders representing Research and Innovation, including Dr. Le Mai Lan, Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup, President of the University Council; Prof. Laurent El Ghaoui, Vice Provost of Research and Innovation; Assoc. Prof. Phan Manh Huong, Director of the Center for Materials Innovation and Technology; Dr. Phung Thi Viet Bac and Dr Pham Huy Hieu, Director and Deputy Director of Research Management, Ms Nguyen Van Anh – Head of Industry Engagement, Dr Nguyen Dang Tung – College of Engineering and Computer Science.

From Vingroup, the delegation included top executives from VinFast, VinMotion, and VinSpeed, including Mr. Nguyen Manh Quan, Deputy CEO of the Quality Division at VinFast; and Mr. Nguyen Minh Viet, Deputy CEO of the Vehicle Development Division at VinFast, Mr. Le Minh, Director of Hardware at VinMotion, and Mrs. Le Thi Nguyet Minh, Director of Set up at VinSpeed. Their presence and discussion underscored Vingroup’s commitment to advancing high-tech manufacturing and innovation in Vietnam.
The meeting centered on establishing joint testing and certification labs at VinUni, with initial efforts concentrated on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC/EMI) and battery safety. This initiative is expected to:
- Position VinUniversity as a future national hub for research, development, and product certification.
- Create exceptional research and internship opportunities for students and alumni in engineering and technology.
- Open new career pathways in standards, testing, and validation in collaboration with a global leader.
- Strengthen Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem by enabling domestic certification of products for international markets.

This partnership represents more than a collaborative effort—it is a long-term commitment to building Vietnam’s future in high-tech manufacturing and global standards development. VinUniversity looks forward to the innovations and impact that will emerge from this strategic alliance.
