The VinUni-Illinois Smart Health Center (VISHC), a partnership between VinUniversity and the Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, develops cutting-edge healthcare solutions that transform disease prevention, diagnosis, and patient care.
The center was established in 2021 to conduct high-impact research on biomedical sensing, informatics, and their applications in smart healthcare. It aims at developing state-of-the-art digital technologies to provide widely accessible health monitoring, screening, and diagnostics for people all over the world.
In October 2024, VinUniversity and Vinmec Times City Hospital performed Vietnam’s first 3D-printed titanium chest reconstruction surgery, marking a breakthrough in personalized medical care.
VISHC was also recognized with the 2023 ISCN Excellence in Sustainability Award, making VinUni the first Vietnamese university to receive this distinction.
